Berkeley County Homeland Security and Emergency Management has partnered with
SwiftReach Networks to bring the residents and businesses of Berkeley
County a product called Swift911 that will send alerts in the event of
emergency situations such as hazardous weather, road closures, utility problems,
evacuations and more.
The program is capable of sending messages via landline phone, cell phone, text message, email, fax and pager. The system uses a publicly available list of phone numbers that can be removed or updated by both residents and businesses. Some phone numbers are not in the system and residents are encouraged to update their information and contact preferences, add additional phone numbers, cell phones and email addresses.
Residents and businesses can register easily to receive alerts from the Berkeley County
Swift911 Emergency Notification System by one of the following ways:
1. Establish an account by clicking on “Register Now” on the Swift911 Portal below. This is the preferred method.
2. Text SWIFT911 to 99538 from your mobile phone.
3. Download the free Swift911 Public app on your Apple, Android or Windows mobile device or cell phone.

Security and Emergency Management. You may also pick and choose list subscriptions for
other types of alerts, such as various weather related alerts that come from the
National Weather Service, just choose the ones you are interested in receiving.
